Hi, I host Diffusion Science Radio and the Here's Why podcasts on Archive.org. I create the RSS on my website, link that to feedburner, and then link the feedburner RSS feed to iTunes.

How do you create the Rss on the website?

used the advanced search, finalize your search query and select the RSS feed radio button in advanced search. it will return a URL to use for RSS.

I have two podcasts. One podcast I create the RSS automatically in my web content manager software Movable Type. The older podcast, for compatibility, I create by hand in a text editor.

I'm hosting my podcast here and it's working (almost) fine. The only problem that I'm having is that in my podcast library (not the itunes store) I can only stream the podcast (it doesn't download when i click the download icon). However, I can download just fine from the itunes store. It isn't a huge problem but it may become annoying to people who subscribe to my podcast in the future. Any help?

One strange thing that I've notice (which probably has something to do with the problem) is a paper/page icon shows up next to my episode title. This doesn't happen with any of the popular podcasts that I listen to.

Has anyone run into any of this before?

I'm having exact same issue. I can stream episode on the iphone app but cannot download while in the library. It does download directly from itunes store. Its super annoying for listeners.

It's pretty frustrating. I'm going to stop obsessing over it today, but I'll see what I can find out tomorrow and get back to you if I find anything. Please do the same. Ugh! -AJ

Maybe this is you (haha) but I found the same question in itunes. I'll bookmark it and wait for an answer (none yet):

Yup that's me. I got an answer but don't understand it or how to fix.

not saying we have an immediate fix but i am curious whether this is true for your most recent podcasts as well as older ones. if you have a podcast created on archive.org within the last 2 weeks does it behave the same as older podcasts? i ask because we did push out a change which might have had the effect of solving the "byte-range request" issue. thanks for your feedback.

Hi Jeff, I hadn't released a new episode until yesterday, but it seems to work fine! I was able to download it in the library and there isn't a small paper/page icon next to the file.

I won't get my hopes up but I don't think I did anything different than before (copied the .mp3 link into the embed link in blogger). The Archive.org page for the file does seem to look slightly different than before. Must have been a fix on your end. Thanks!
